This is another digital piece that I'm going to get printed to canvas and then work over the top with some acrylics and varnish.

New Painting
Put the finishing touches on a painting i had been working on this evening. Was able to knock most of it over the other day and finish up the last bits this evening. Will be taking the last three paintings in to the gallery tomorrow. Pretty stoked as four of the first five paintings in the gallery have already sold.

Ninja Kitti
I guess the advantage of working on multiple paintings at one time is that you get the satisfaction of finishing two in one day!
Its interesting how much of a different process that the canvas painting is to digital. Its a lot slower and you have to wait for stages to dry before you can approach the next, there's no undo function, no editable layers and you can't just pick up objects and reposition them on the canvas. Makes me realise how spoilt we are in this digital age.
On the flip side, you can paint in the sunshine and not be huddled over a computer monitor :)
Latest Painting
Just put the finishing touches on my latest RvB piece. This is my largest canvas so far (762mm x 1016mm). Actually think I preferred working on the larger scale - gives you a bit more freedom.

RvB Development hits full steam
Have some big development plans in the works for RvB, including a fully fleshed out world, story and cast of characters.
I feel like I'm really starting to find the focus for this project that it deserves. Putting a couple of the characters to canvas has really spurred me in to action.
Here's some development sketches I've been scribbling down lately - some of which you will notice have been turned in to paintings. You might even notice a new character - Ninja Kitti.
Stay tuned as more stuff is in the works. Have a couple of paintings in progress and a few other projects on the go for RvB.
Have also updated the branding on my RvB blog and will hopefully giving a little bit more focus to it in the upcoming months.

Great First Week in the Gallery
My Paintings have had a great first week in Artboy Gallery.
Artboy were fantastic enough to feature my art in their front window
this week and have already sold three of the five pieces.
Couldn't have hoped for a more awesome result.
Serious props and thanks go out to Marc at Artboy for the awesome job!

New Painting
Really starting to enjoy doing the painting. It's such a different way of working to my traditional digital work and also has the added benefit of allowing me to get some sun rays.
Will definitely help get rid of that vampiric complexion :)
Here's my latest piece...

New Painting...
Am really getting into the whole painting thing at the moment. Here's my second piece (with a third already in the works). This is a piece based on a digital work I did awhile ago and wanted to really do on canvas.

First painting goes into Artboy Gallery
Very excited. My first painting went in to an art gallery today and is up for sale.
Has certainly spurred me in to action and am already working on another two pieces.
Check out the Artboy Gallery in Greville St Prahran or go to website.

A draw?
I can't believe the AFL final was a draw. Considering it consisted of two teams who I really had very little interest in following I thought I wouldn't really be that interested in the final.
It turned out to be a great match, but not a great result. Seriously the AFL must be one of the only sports i know where they don't go to extra time and instead make the teams come back a week later to play again.
Sounds like over eagerness on the AFL's part to get some more revenue. Only problem is that now the final conflicts with a whole heap of other sporting events.

AFL final mascot badges
Got an AFL party to go to that we attend every year and tasked with the job of doing up some team supporter icons to go on the name badges (as a lot of people haven't met before).

More Bioshock Fan Art
Here's another Bioshock piece.
Just finished the sequel for the second time. Its funny; I know there are different endings - it's just that i can't bring myself to play the character differently. Says a lot about the power of the narrative in these games.
Started this scribble when i was watching the football the other nite and finished it up in photoshop.

Bioshock:Infinite - Fan Art
Had a shot at doing a bit of fan art conceptual stuff for the upcoming Bioshock: Infinite.

Bolt
I bought Bolt on dvd today.
It's one of the few non Pixar CG films that i really love (and How to train your dragon of course).
The lighting and backgounds are magnificent and the characters are fantastic.
I noticed in the extra features that John Lasseter played a significant role in this film so I wonder if that was a major contributing factor to quality of this film.
Whatever the reason tho, I loved it. As a dog lover I really bought into the characters, and then there's "Rhino" who would have to go down as one of the true awsome cg characters in film.
Did a bit of sketching as i watched trying to nail the character of Bolt.

The sockmonster
Did this lil fellow for A wacom "Anime monster contest".
I swear this creature is real, but as to whether it would look
like this I can only speculate.
Consider it, an artist's impression. :)
