Tantrum

Over the weekend, my girlfriend, Alana (who serves as the inspiration for my character, Tantrum) went for her first horse ride. Needless to say there will be a good few more days before we finish hearing about the aches and pains :)

Lil Hood and Wulf

Couldn't sleep much last nite so I decided to be productive.
Have had a lot of ideas for characters and paintings racing around in my head of late.
This is one of my favourites. I call her Lil Hood and her shadowy companionion is Wulf.
I guess I've always had a soft spot for the traditional fairy tales and always wanted to do a modern, urban spin on it.

Sam the dog

It was a pretty traumatic time recently when our dog Sam was attacked by another dog at the park. Sam's always been a lover not a fighter, and he never saw this dog coming. It didn't help that it was a 60kg rottweiller and poor ole Sammy only weighs in at 23kg.

What had us worried the most was that Sam is now almost 13, and after surveying the damage it looked like a general anesthetic was needed for Sam to be properly stitched up. Thankfully, due to some fantastic loving care from Dr Leah and the team at the vet clinic, ole Sammy pulled through with flying colours and is as happy as ever.

At 13 years old, I've had him since he was just six months old (picking him up as pup from an RSPCA shelter). Its times like this when you realise that your dog is getting on in years and just how an important part of your life they are.

Anyway, as a thankyou to the vet I did up this illustration and framed it for her. Thankyou very much to Dr Leah from Sam, Alana and myself, and Sam's longtime playmate and bestie, Leela.

New Painting - I Scream

I've been promising my girlfriend Alana that I'd do a painting for her for some time. Its only fair as she served as the inspiration for the creation of my character, Tantrum who first appeared in my Spilt Milk piece :)

This time Tantrum has dropped his ice cream and he's none too happy about it.

New Painting - Bananas

Another new piece that I'm hoping to get into Artboy Gallery and also introduces a new character to my RvB universe. I call him Bananas, and he's the crazy aerial support to Bear's crew.

New painting for Flood Appeal auction

Finally got my butt into gear and started churning out some new paintings.

This first one if for a good cause. Its part of Banana a Peel : a charity exhibition / auction / live show that is to raise money for the Salvation Army's flood appeal. Check out more info for the event on the blog link.

Fallout Inspired Scribble

Was having a little friendly debate the other day with one of the guys from work. We're both playing through Fallout: New Vegas (for the second time!) and were comparing the apparent coolness (or lack thereof :) ) of our characters.

He was paying out on me taking a girl character for the second playthrough. I'll admit I was a little backfooted until i realised he was wandering the wasteland in a spacesuit :).

It kind of inspired this little scribble

Artboy v's Fanboy exhibition pieces

Artboy gallery has their upcoming Artboy v's Fanboy exhibition and I'm looking to exhibit 3 pieces in the show. These will be my first works that i've done digitally that I've had transferred as prints to canvas.
