Bioshock

I'm in the process of playing through Bioshock 2 again. Man, i love the Bioshock games.

Great narrative, design and general creative vision.

I've now played through both games twice (which is a big call for me). Its inspired me to put together this piece of fan art...

Fan Art: When Naughty Bear meets Gears of War?

Been reading a bit lately about an upcoming console game called Naughty Bear. I've normally been hestitant with this game genre (dark humour/cartoony) but this one gives me some hope. From what I've read so far, the underlying gameplay mechanics sound like they take the gamer seriously whilst still aiming to deliver a humorous story on the surface.

I also read an article recently on the upcoming finale to the Gears of War trilogy, and boy am I excited about this game. Some of my greatest gaming experiences have been playing split screen co-op with the girlfriend through the first two gears of war games. The third instalment sounds like it certainly won't disappoint!

Anyway, the above two games have inspired this piece of hybrid fan art...

New F class Forza Car and Livery

Mucking around in Forza last nite made a surprisingly good tune on a 2003 Focus. It goes to show I have no idea what the relevance of the number ratings for acceleration and speed are, cause this car was heaps lower in that regard to my Eclipse but it races almost a good second faster on some tracks.
I reckon this is the most fun, f-class car i've raced so far.

Darksiders Fan Art: WIP 01

With only about a week till its release i've been inspired to do some fan art based on the forthcoming Darksiders game. With Joe Mad at the helm and already some good reviews coming out, I'm waiting with baited breath for this one!

This is just an early concept layout rough, that'll give a rough idea of where i'm going with this. Alas, i've also managed to give myself multiple projects at one time (I can thank the short attention span for that one! :) )

Dead Space Fan Art: WIP 01

Read a post the other day about EA confirming the sequel to Dead Space. Was extremely excitied. Dead Space was on of the best games I played this year and Visceral Games (then EA Redwood) created one of the best survival horror games of all time.

It was funny: I almost didn't even buy it as i thought it would just be another Resident Evil meets Doom hybrid, but wow was I mistaken.

A strong, tense narrative, awesome setting, fantastic design, great pacing and impressive controls: this game defied all of my preconceived skepticism. What was even better is that it made me go back and play on the hardest difficuty - something very few games have ever done. While I wait with baited breath for the sequel I have just started playing through the original again. I played it in the dark the other nite and it was still scary! It inspired me to start on this little fan piece homage. Only just started and have only put in about 20 or so minutes do far.

Forza 3 - Threading the needle

Only had a couple of races last nite, but I did have one race on the Sedona track that stood out. Started from last on the grid and made my way through the pack. Managed to steer my way through the usual turn one carnage (without a scratch no less) and then half way through lap one managed to thread the needle between crashing cars and come out the other side unscathed.

It was a very cool moment as both cars were spinning and i was able to pick asmall gap between them and shoot on through without so much as a touch - very satisfying. That took me up to third where i spent the rest of the race. Didn't have the pace to catch the leaders and never saw anyone in the rearview mirror.

Its moments of satisfaction like these that make me love this game so much.

Anyone sick of my Forza 3 posts yet?

Ok, I completely recognise my addictiction to this game and the fact that is starting to dominate this blog. I've had a five day holiday from work and have put in a truck load of hours on this game (driver level 41 now i think in career mode).
Rest assured its back to work tomorrow so that will keep me in check a little and get me back into drawing. In the meanwhile i just love the livery editor in this game. Have just started racing R3 class and developed a livery for my M3 GTR2.
Have also developed a livery for the Audi S5 and have already done a custom for racing mate Untouchablle. Anybody who wants a custom version of this send a message to my gamertag (Jelly Muffin) with specification on what color and what number (so far i have 03 and Untouchablle has 11). I won't be doubling up on numbers on these designs.
Cheers all.

Forza and friends

Forza has a really good online community with lots of great racers to hang out with and race. Did a bit of racing online with fellow aussie Untouchablle last nite. He's a good clean racer with a funny sense of humour. Have posted some pics from our racing last nite.
Another fellow aussie who's a big forza fan and has a cool witty blog that i recommend you check out is Scotty Canuck. If you get a chance i recommend going and checking out his blog, Canuckistan at http://www.canuckistan.org/

Forza driving mayhem

Yep, you guessed it. I actually spent some of my day off playing Forza. It is a full blown addiction now. Yesterday was a real mixed bag of racing. You have the clean racers and then you have the kamikaze racers. The latter aren't much good for an enjoyable race but they sure do make for some intersting replay photos.
Here's some shots form the Sunset Peninsula track. A coupl of guys jostle for position through the high speed turn, come unstuck and it all cascades back into the pack :)

More Forza goodness from the weekend

I am so addicted to this game. What's more surprising is that i've been playing it more online than offline, which is amazing for me. The racing online is superb and if you can find a group of clean racers then it is pure magic!

More Forza 3

Yep, we're definitely starting to border on the obsessive! Man, I love this game.! Had a great session last nite with a really good group of clean, quality racers. Made for an awesome experience. Got to give the new R8 5.2 a spin...very nice!

Redfog hits the streets of Forza 3

Forza 3 got released last week on the Xbox 360 last weeks and boasts an awesome custom livery editor. Picked up my copy and dived straight into what is undoubtedly the best racing game I've ever played.
After checking out the livery editor how could I resist but to attempt some shameless self promotion for this blog... and so the redfrog mobile was born and has already been doing a few laps in multiplayer races across the servers.

The livery is available for purchase on the storefront marketplace but any forza fans that visit this blog and want a free livery then send a message to my xbox live user. i go under the rather severely embarressing gamertag of Jelly Muffin. Oh and please don't ask for an explanation of that gamertag :)
