Forza on the weekend

Raced a bit of R3 class and A class expert in multiplayer on the weekend and I am really now subscribing to the philosophy that if you can avoid the carnage and mayhem then you don't need the fastest car to place well in the race.

I raced and R34 Mine's skyline in R3 and even tho it was totally outclassed in speed by all the ferrari's in the races, i still managed to stay fairly competitive due to avoiding all the crashes that they got involved with. Of course i still occasionally got rammed off the track but for the most part i remained competitive.

This philosphy is even more appropriate when racing A class expert (which for my mind is the best multiplayer racing on the servers) as if you can avoid the carnage then any speed disadvantage you had is quickly removed by simulation damage starting to take its toll on the other cars. This lesson is most appropriate when navigating the Amalfi Coast course. Sometimes its better to hang back out of the turn one shennanigans and then navigate your way through the carnage.

Forza Custom - High Octane Racing

Fellow forza 3 gamer, Sour Deeee, messaged me to get this custom done for him, for his High Octane Racing nissan. Incorporated the idea of the assassin from this mornings daily sketch.

Forza 3 - Threading the needle

Only had a couple of races last nite, but I did have one race on the Sedona track that stood out. Started from last on the grid and made my way through the pack. Managed to steer my way through the usual turn one carnage (without a scratch no less) and then half way through lap one managed to thread the needle between crashing cars and come out the other side unscathed.

It was a very cool moment as both cars were spinning and i was able to pick asmall gap between them and shoot on through without so much as a touch - very satisfying. That took me up to third where i spent the rest of the race. Didn't have the pace to catch the leaders and never saw anyone in the rearview mirror.

Its moments of satisfaction like these that make me love this game so much.

Forza 3 - Toyota Trueno and '84 Supra

Went a bit retro on the weekend, and had some great racing and made some new racing buddies (Outlaw and Olympic Dreamer) Also did some racing with Forza buddy Scotty Canuck. Check out his website at http://www.canuckistan.org/
Back to the retro thing: My second car I ever owned was a '84 model Celica. God, I loved that car. It may pale in comparison to my RX8 these days (which has to go to the panel beaters today cause the girlfriend backed her car into it :( ), but i seriously have some fond memories of that car.
Its not exactly the same but the closest i could get in Forza to it is an '84 model Supra. So i did up a Supra and A trueno and enjoyed giving them a spin on the track.

Going Bananas on Forza

Last nite I debuted my latest Livery design on Forza 3. My Team Banana R34 GTR hit the bitumen of Road America. Needless to say that this is a little tongue in cheek. I particularly like the "How's my driving?" decal on the back.
Had a lot of fun with this one and it should be the first of a few Team Banana cars for the future. You gotta love a team of monkeys!

The latest Forza liveries

A bit more mucking around with the livery editor. My two latest creations are for the R34 Skyline GTR and the the BMW M3 GTR2. Did a bit of a skull illustration for the R34.

Anyone sick of my Forza 3 posts yet?

Ok, I completely recognise my addictiction to this game and the fact that is starting to dominate this blog. I've had a five day holiday from work and have put in a truck load of hours on this game (driver level 41 now i think in career mode).
Rest assured its back to work tomorrow so that will keep me in check a little and get me back into drawing. In the meanwhile i just love the livery editor in this game. Have just started racing R3 class and developed a livery for my M3 GTR2.
Have also developed a livery for the Audi S5 and have already done a custom for racing mate Untouchablle. Anybody who wants a custom version of this send a message to my gamertag (Jelly Muffin) with specification on what color and what number (so far i have 03 and Untouchablle has 11). I won't be doubling up on numbers on these designs.
Cheers all.

Forza driving mayhem

Yep, you guessed it. I actually spent some of my day off playing Forza. It is a full blown addiction now. Yesterday was a real mixed bag of racing. You have the clean racers and then you have the kamikaze racers. The latter aren't much good for an enjoyable race but they sure do make for some intersting replay photos.
Here's some shots form the Sunset Peninsula track. A coupl of guys jostle for position through the high speed turn, come unstuck and it all cascades back into the pack :)

Terminator

This may be a bad thing but i am hanging out for the new Terminator movie in spite of all the lackluster reviews. I keep telling myself "Hey, its terminator, it can't possibly be bad".

I fear i may be setting myself up for a fall here but,I just can't help it.

Did this quick little scribble whilst i was in Terminator fan mode.
